Hi, I’m Lisa

Your Go-to champion who arms you with tools to negotiate life circumstances, helps you avoid common emotional pitfalls and guides you through the Roadmap to empowerment.

And trust me,

I’m not here to tell you to stop eating- far from it, in fact!

I believe food has the power to HEAL US… when we choose to use it for good, of course. My goal is to help show men and women across the country the potential for living a life free of painful gut issues, excessive bloating and gas, obesity, and complications from autoimmune diseases and diabetes.

Sounds like a tall order doesn’t it? Don’t worry, it’s nothing the right tools, my experience and your decision to finally take control can’t handle- and the time is now!

Why Me?

Despite not being able to walk until the age of five- after being born with two club feet- I’ve taken on every challenge in life head first…

Z

I swam, climbed trees and played sports as soon as my 2 feet could support it…

Z

I taught a friend, who was born without limbs to water ski…

Z

I backpacked through Europe, Russia, and Asia with nothing but a 50 lb backpack and a thirst for adventure…

Z

I had life-saving surgery with only hours left to live that changed my purpose forever…

And my tenacity doesn’t stop when it comes to helping YOU.

My Story

In 1980, I had spent Thanksgiving with my cousins, and went home early because I was not feeling well.  Fortunately, my roommate, came back to the apartment early from her holiday celebration to find me on the floor throwing up blood.  She grabbed the trash can and took me to the hospital ER.  They took my pulse as I passed out on the table.  With that  the ER staff ran a series of tests and attempted to get my internal bleeding stopped (Bleeding ulcer near main blood flow in stomach).  I rested in the hospital for a week when upon preparing to be discharged, I lost my vision.  The bleeding had returned and the doctor was going to have to perform emergency surgery.  Everything went well, and I began my recovery.  I was doing okay, having learned how to change my diet and lifestyle to support my reconstructed stomach.

Then in 2005, I had just spent the night crying myself to sleep after a stressful day at work, I was awoken at 5:00 am in writhing pain.  I called 911 and was rushed to the hospital for evaluation.  Because my white blood cell count was changing rapidly, they went into my abdomen and found my small intestine twisted and dead.  They removed 10 feet (we have 25 ft), and I recovered for 10 days in the hospital.  I returned home to stare blankly at what was suppose to be my life now.

Except everything was different.

In hindsight, it wasn’t as little notice as perhaps it felt in the moments of chaos, but instead a culmination of years ignoring the symptoms, grinding through the pain and trying to DIY my health without any real guidance, education or tools. I was left overwhelmed and humbled by the fragility of life and there was NO WAY I was letting anything ever bring me to that toxic brink again.

I began studying and quickly realized (for the first time ever) that my body was riddled with chronic inflammation – the root cause of most diseases known to man- and my processed, carb-loaded, trans fat, sugar-laden diet was a major factor to the chronic physical, emotional and mental stress my body was enduring. Changing my eating habits brought me back to nature and the healing power of real, whole, nutrient-dense, satiating- and yes, delicious- foods. Within a short amount of time my body began to heal, I effortlessly lost weight, healed my gut and my emotional outlook on life improved right along with it. Finally, my life- in every sense of the word: professional, personal and relationships- felt RIGHT again.

And if you thought I was going to keep these nature-loving, feel-your-best, nourish your body and soul secrets to myself, well… I think we both know I had no intentions of that.

In 2006 I began my journey as a health coach

helping individuals and families to audit their health and financial wellbeing as a Certified Long-Term Care Consultant.

I completed The Primal Health Coaching Institute and the Institute for Functional Coaching, giving me the insight and training necessary to help more clients with varying illnesses and diseases and then in 2012 I began helping people in their 50’s and older with chronic illnesses to obtain home health support. This allowed me to show others the path for healthy food management, movement awareness, sleep issues, stress perception, connection to others and bringing fun back into their lives.

Finally, in early 2018, I decided to start my own business to help people tackle health issues in a way that is sustainable for them- because let’s be honest, NOTHING will work if we don’t enjoy it.

This led to finding ways to help younger people, who understand that they can have a better life with the right solutions, to identify and embrace what healthy looks and feels like to them.

And the rest, as they say, is history…

Fast forward to where we are today, I’m a firm believer that there is nothing better than being empowered to control your life in a way that makes you happy, helps you to feel your best and gives you the energy to soak up every moment of joy we are blessed to experience. It was a long- and painful- journey that led me to where I am today, but with the privilege I now have to share my knowledge to help others, I’d have it no other way.

Helping Others, Changing Lives,

Lisa
